I created this site to support my on-campus and on-line students in Principles of Economics at Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, Virginia. However, I welcome anyone curious about economic theory! The goal of this site is to provide step-by-step instructions in solving the types of problems typically found in Econ 101 courses. These skills form the building blocks for more advanced economic analysis. Additionally, students in introductory Economics courses need to understand the limits of these basic models and recognize the conditions under which markets fail to work according to theory.
